his 6-week class is designed to equip the student with the basics of pottery Some of the skills that will be taught: • Information on types and qualities of clay • Knowledge of basic tools • Techniques associated with pinch pots, coils, and working with slabs • Targeted hand building • Instruction on glazes

Have you ever wanted to learn to make pottery on the wheel? If so this is the class for you. This course will provide students with the knowledge necessary to learn the basics of throwing pottery. We recommend for students to take Beginning Wheel Throwing at least twice. Ask your instructor if you are ready to enroll in to Next Step Wheel Throwing , Creative throwing or Wheel Throwing 102.

Summer Camp for ages 10-16. This camp is all about working with clay

Our trees need your help to escape noxious weeds. Rangers will provide tools and instruction for how to identify and remove invasive plants like English Ivy.
Wear long sleeve shirts, pants, and closed-toe shoes.
Anyone under the age of 16 must accompany an adult.

Share some love by volunteering in your favorite park.
Rangers are coordinating a park clean up event at Riverfront Park, 312 Laurel St., and we'd love to see you there!

Summer Adult Basketball League is offered on Sunday afternoons. Season will begin May 26. Teams play 9 game schedule followed by playoffs for top 8 teams. Games played at Drew Wellness Center, King Park and Greenview Park . Registration is $300 per team. All players must be at least 18 years of age.

Youth Summer Basketball League is a competitive program offered in 9 & Under, 11 & under, 13 & under, 15 & under and 18 & under divisions. Age determined as of 9/1/24. Season will begin week of June 3. Games will be played once or twice weekly. Teams play 8 -10 game schedule followed by playoffs. Games played at Columbia Parks and Recreation community centers. Each age group will play all its games at same one. Registration is $25 per person.
